One of my greatest annoyance with my natural hair is the amount of time it takes to dry when I do any style on wet hair. Especially my twist outs and braid outs. They can honestly take more than 24 hours to dry.
So to style a failed twist out, I usually just roll and tuck the back of my hair upward, slide my hair to the side and just pin everything and just leave an afro at the top of my hair.
How do you style your hair on bad hair days?
I wrote this a while ago, but I think it is still relevant.greetings, hope you are well…
In the past few weeks I’ve come across several pictures circulating around the web of women who basically “transform” between their before make-up picture and after make-up picture. In all honesty, after a little application of any type of make-up, be it a little eye liner or a full face make-up, we all look different from when we started with no make-up at all….
Some men and women ( I say this shamefully- because I think women should understand the most) have decided that these women who may feel as though they have NO choice but to wear full face make-up are funny and something to make fun of.
Looking at these pictures, the women appear to have either really bad acne or are suffering from hyper pigmentation. Living in a society where there are an ABUNDANCE of skin-care products and routines floating around promoting clear skin, I ask, is it not normal that these women want to have even toned or clear skin too? And for them, their only way to achieve it is wearing excess makeup.
Unfortunately, people are mean and inconsiderate and have decided to shame them for not have flawless skin and wearing makeup. I see comments about how these women are deceiving men and I think to myself, this isn’t about men, its about self.
From my experience, I can honestly say I wear makeup to please myself. I know many women who do too. No one is out here applying their make up with thoughts of deceiving men or people. Makeup enhances our features, so it is really pleasing to look at yourself after applying even a bit of mascara and think yourself ” I am fine looking person”….
Anyways, my point is or was, not all of us are lucky to have blemish-free faces and that is okay. Accepting your face as is, is wonderful and beautiful and that’s what we all want. But wearing make-up because you want to cover blemishes is okay too and you are still beautiful. It’s not funny. Love yourself the way you need to. Be it with make up or not. It’s whatever brings you joy and gets you through the day.
Over the weekend I got my hands on NYX double dare high definition blush and I used it that same day, and I am here to share that I loved it. I had been eyeing NARS, Taj Mahal for so long because something about orange blushes really appeal to me. But I think this will do and I wont have to spend over $40 that I don’t have.
How do you feel about orange blush?
One of my favorite things to talk about besides natural hair is beauty products, specifically lipsticks. Today, I will be sharing my favorite lipsticks for spring with you all, I definitely wear other lipsticks not just these four lipsticks. But I will be sharing my other favorites later mostly the NUDES! ahhhh and plus this is brown girl friendly. yay!
This one is called Vegas Volt by MAC, its a really nice creamy orange that I apply lightly.
I love liquid lipsticks. This one is by Jordana, called Cherry Cobbler and it cost less than $5. How about that. This lipstick makes every outfit bright.
Faux by Mac is kind of my all year round lipstick, so it will always show up in any lipstick favorites, or best posts for EVERY season. get familiar!
This is an oldie. It is Heroine by MAC. I know its a fan favorite and it is definitely a spring and summer lipstick.
